Huong Vu
Huong Vu is a senior program officer on the Community Engagement team at the Gates Foundation. For the past two decades, Huong has collaborated with leaders across the country to increase opportunities and improve outcomes for historically under-resourced communities.
In her current role at the foundation, Huong supports efforts that build thriving, diverse, and equitable communities in the greater Seattle region. Prior to that, Huong managed philanthropic investments for the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation and Boeing Commercial Airplanes and provided strategy counsel to emerging philanthropies. These efforts addressed needs in the human services, civic engagement, arts and culture, education, and workforce development sectors.
Huong holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington/Foster School of Business and a program certificate from the Stanford University/Graduate School of Business. She has served as adjunct faculty at Seattle University.
Huong currently serves on the Seattle Art Museum and Philanthropy Northwest boards. She has also been a nominator and grants reviewer for 20+ philanthropies in the United States to fuel endeavors that empower women and girls, scale creative economies, create public space, and champion the next generation of leaders.
