Travis Franklin
Travis Franklin is a senior program officer on the Washington State team. His portfolio focuses primarily on strengthening the charter school sector in Washington state. He has an unwavering commitment to the idea that every child should have access to an excellent educational experience that considers who they are as a person and equips them with the skills necessary to thrive in the 21st century.
He comes to this role after founding Spokane International Academy, one of Washington’s first charter schools in 2015. Prior to this he taught 5th and 6th grade and in the Highly Capable Program (HiCap) in the Mead School District for 8 years.
Travis received his bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Whitworth University, a master's degree in education media design and technology from Full Sail University, a master's degree in organizational leadership from Gonzaga University, and a Washington state school administration credential.
Travis currently serves on the board of directors for Saint George’s School and is the board chair for Excellent Schools Washington. He, his wife, and two kids love travelling and attending live concerts, performances, and shows.
